Mark Sanchez signs 1-year deal with Eagles

Ex-Jet signal caller to compete for backup job

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Quarterback Mark Sanchez signed a one year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles Friday morning after passing a physical.

The ex-Jet missed all of last season following shoulder surgery.

He will compete against fellow USC product Matt Barkley to be the backup to Nick Foles.

Sanchez says he's most excited about playing in Chip Kelly's system and becoming a better QB.
