Mifflin, Wilson WL gear up for District Quarterfinals

Mifflin, Wilson WL set for quarterfinals

The Governor Mifflin and Wilson West Lawn Football teams are on a collision course in the District 3 AAAA bracket. If both teams were to win this Friday, the two rivals would meet in the district semifinals and add another chapter to their storied past.

Only this time, a trip to the District finals would be on the line.

But business comes first. It won't be easy for either team in the quarterfinals.

The fifth-seeded Mustangs will have go on the road and take on fourth-seeded Penn Manor.

The Comets lost just once this year, with that defeat coming to none other than Wilson West Lawn.

But the Mustangs are not backing down. In fact, they're eager to meet the challenge that awaits them.

And why shouldn't they be. Governor Mifflin has won nine straight games, and is playing its best football at the most opportune time.

The top-seeded Bulldogs will have home-field advantage when they host the eight seed, Central York.

Wilson has been bruising teams all season using a physical defense and a strong rushing attack.

But Wilson may have to change the way they run the ball given CentralĀ  York's defensive scheme. In fact, Wilson may have to go to the air more, something we don't see them do very often.
