Miller-Keystone launches campaign to bolster blood supply

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Local first responders will go head-to-head this summer for a good cause.

The Miller-Keystone Blood Center announced Tuesday the "Boots, Badges & Bandages" competition.

Starting Memorial Day, local firefighters, police officers and EMTs will work to recruit as many blood donors as they can.

On Labor Day, the donations will be tallied and a winner will be named.

Miller-Keystone said the campaign is a great way to collect blood over the summer, which is typically when donations drop off.
