A Major League Baseball star is issuing a challenge to animal lovers in Berks County.

Dodgers pitcher Chad Billingsley and his wife are trying to help the Animal Rescue League get two thousand animals adopted by November.

Billingsley is a Berks County native.

He and his wife have donated $65,000 to the ARL since 2011.
