Mom of baby found dead in container out of hospital, in jail

Samantha Trump being held on $250,000 bail

READING, Pa. - The pregnant mother of a baby whose body was found concealed in an apartment in Berks County last month is now out of the hospital and behind bars.

Samantha Trump and the baby's father, Shaun Oxenreider, appeared in court Wednesday. It's the first time they have been together since their arrest three weeks ago.

Officials declined to elaborate on the nature of the court hearing, and the couple declined to say anything to a 69 News reporter as they were led into the Berks County Services Center.

Trump had been hospitalized since suffering a seizure on March 20, when police showed up at the couple's apartment at 1350 West Wyomissing Court in Spring Township.

Officers, responding to a tip, said they found the 6-month-old baby's body in a container of cat litter in an apartment crawl space.

Trump, 27, and Oxenreider, 25, are facing charges of concealing the death of a child, abuse of a corpse, and criminal conspiracy.

Police said more charges against the couple are possible pending the outcome of the baby's autopsy, which was done March 22. The autopsy report, however, has not been completed, according to the coroner.

In the meantime, both are being held in the Berks County Jail on $250,000 bail.
