Months-long bridge project closes Blacksmith Road in Amity

AMITY TWP., Pa. - If your travels typically take you along Blacksmith Road in Amity Township, you may need to find another way to go, at least for the next several months.

A PennDOT project to partially reconstruct the Blacksmith Road bridge over the Manatawny Creek is now underway.

As a result, the road will be closed between Sharon Drive and Buckhead Lane through August 24, at the latest, officials said.

While through-traffic will be detoured between Routes 562 and 662, local access will be provided to all intersections along Blacksmith Road.

Lehigh County-based Baseline Contracting Inc. is the contractor for the project.
