Morgan Boyer arrested in hit-and-run that injured pedestrian

RICHMOND TWP., Pa. - A Hamburg man has surrendered to police on charges he fled the scene of an accident involving a pedestrian.

Morgan Boyer was behind the wheel of a car when he struck Eddie Carrero on Park Road, in the area of Wolfe Court, in Richmond Twp., Berks Co., on Nov. 17, police said.

Carrero, of Reading, suffered cuts and abrasions. He was transported by ambulance to a hospital for treatment.

Police said they were able to identify the type of car that hit Carrero by researching the parts numbers on a passenger side mirror that was recovered at the scene of the accident.

Investigators later identified Boyer as the driver. He was arraigned Thursday on charges including accidents involving death or personal injury, careless driving and duty to give information and render aid. He was freed on $20,000 bond.
