NFLPA to investigate DeSean Jackson's release

Players union to look into Eagles' release of Jackson

NFLPA will look into Eagles' release of DeSean Jackson

PHILADELPHIA - Since the Eagles released DeSean Jackson, there have been plenty of ripples in the aftermath. Another happened Friday. The NFL Player's Association has announced that it will investigate Jackson's release by the Eagles.

NFLPA Executive Director DeMaurice Smith said Friday morning that the union will try to determine whether the Eagles leaked misinformation to the media regarding Jackson.

The team released the wideout last Friday. Earlier that day, an article was posted on discussing Jackson's alleged connections with gang members.

After denying the report shortly thereafter, Jackson signed a three-year deal with the Redskins on Wednesday.

The Eagles have not commented on the NFLPA's planned investigation at this point.
