EXETER TWP., Pa. - Police officers in Berks County are being honored for catching dangerous drivers.

District Attorney John Adams presented awards to officers from multiple departments.

The officers were recognized Friday in Exeter Township by PennDOT for their participation in aggressive-driving enforcement campaigns.

Authorities said the campaigns are a good way to crack down on drivers who put others at risk.

"We're specifically looking for people who are following too closely during these waves. We're specifically looking for people who run red lights, and one of the biggest things we do is enforce speed on the highways, because speed kills," said Ofc. David Bentz, Exeter Township Police Department.

Authorities said another aggressive driving crackdown is scheduled for July 6 through August 27.
