Oley man gets jail time in DUI crash that killed passenger

Adam McIlvee must also serve 5 years of probation

READING, Pa. - A Berks County man could spend nearly two years behind bars for causing a crash that killed a passenger last year.

A judge on Friday sentenced Adam McIlvee to 11-1/2 to 23 months in jail followed by five years of probation.

McIlvee pleaded guilty in June to charges of vehicular homicide and driving under the influence. He was drunk behind the wheel of a car in August 2016, when he hit a guardrail on West Philadelphia Avenue in Colebrookdale Township, near Boyertown, police said.

McIlvee's passenger, Ashley Harvey, 22, of Pennsburg, Montgomery County, was killed.
