Oley Valley bids farewell to youth coach killed in Bahamas

OLEY TWP., Pa. - The Oley Valley is saying goodbye to a community leader who was stabbed and killed in the Bahamas.

Funeral services for Carl Yerger, of Ruscombmanor Township, took place Wednesday afternoon at Frieden's United Church in Oley Township.

Yerger was stabbed earlier this month on the island of Bimini. He was president of the Oley Valley Youth League.

Tyler Valles and Robert Schwarz are charged with manslaughter. Their lawyer said the men acted in self-defense because Yerger trespassed on their boat.
