Oley Valley blanks Kutztown to capture Berks baseball title

Distasio, Oley tame Cougars in Berks baseball finals

READING, Pa. - For the first time since 1985, Oley Valley can call itself the class of Berks County baseball. The Lynx defeated Kutztown, 5-0, on Wednesday to capture the BCIAA Baseball Championship.

Behind a three-hit shutout from Nick Distasio, the 2nd-seeded Lynx topped the cinderella-minded Cougars at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Matt Fisher drove in a pair of runs to pace the Lynx offensively.

Both teams will now turn their attention to the District III playoffs.
