One killed, two hurt in accident in Reading

One killed in crash on Bingaman Street Bridge

READING, Pa. - One person was killed and two others were rushed to the hospital after a three-vehicle accident in Reading.

It happened just after 3:30 Wednesday afternoon on the Bingaman Street Bridge.

According to a 69 News crew at the scene, witnesses told police that a BMW crossed the center line and hit an oncoming car.

The man who was driving that other car was killed, officials said, and a seven-year-old passenger was rushed to the hospital. There is no word on the girl's condition. 

The driver of the BMW was also transported to the hospital with severe leg injuries.

A yellow van was also involved in the crash. It sustained minor damage.

The Bingaman Street Bridge will be closed until 8:00 Wednesday night, officials said.
