EAST COVENTRY TWP., Pa. - Last Memorial Day, 24-year-old Ryan Benjamin of East Vincent Township was found dead.

She had been thrown into a pond in East Coventry Township, Chester County -- her leg tied to a cinder block.

"She was a young woman in the prime of her life; she had a good job, she has friends, she had family that cared for her," said Charles Gaza, Chief of Staff with the Chester County District Attorney's office.

Gaza said Benjamin's case is not a cold case. Investigators are still searching for her attacker.

"We try not to rule people in, or rule people out. We try to go where the evidence takes us," he added.

Gaza said investigators have conducted over 100 interviews and have leads.

"Her body was not in the water terribly long, so we still feel that we have a very good crime scene," Gaza said. "And we have a lot of evidence that we can work with."

Investigators are urging anyone with any information -- no matter how small --  to come forward.

"Each individual piece by itself maybe not be enough, but connected with all the other pieces that we have, it can actually paint a very important picture that would cause us to be able to charge the suspect," Gaza said.

Gaza said investigators hope to bring Benjamin's family justice.

"The hardest things for a parent, I think, is to have to bury one of their children and to outlive them," he said. "It's even harder when they don't know why or they don't know how it happened."

Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Bob Balchunis at 610-344-5341.
