Ontelaunee Junior Rifle Team heading to nationals

Area rifle team to compete in national tournaments

NEW TRIPOLI, Pa. - The Ontelaunee Junior Rifle Team will be competing at the Air Rifle National Championships in Anniston, Alabama within the coming weeks. The team will then head to Camp Perry, Ohio to compete in the Smallbore National Championships.

Three of the team's members were featured in a story earlier this year when Berks County natives William Dixon, Amy Fister and Zach Strohl participated in the Junior Olympics in Colorado. All three have set national records at the junior level.

The trio will now compete at nationals alongside Megan Waidelich and alternate Kerry Kerschner.

The team is currently ranked 7th in the nation and will be competing from July 9th through July 26th.

Following these tournaments, Zach, Amy and William will be traveling across the country and to Europe to compete in other events.
