'Operation Last Hurrah' suspect jailed on $100K bail

READING, Pa. - A Berks County woman being sought for her alleged role in a multi-million dollar drug ring is now in custody.

Stephanie Zahariadis was arraigned Tuesday night on charges of criminal use of a communication facility and intentionally possessing a controlled substance. She was committed to the Berks County Jail on $100,000 bail.

Zahariadis, 30, of Exeter Township, was the last in a new round of suspects charged last week as the result of an investigation dubbed by authorities as "Operation Last Hurrah."

The investigation, according to District Attorney John Adams, focused on an organization that was responsible for distributing more than $10 million worth of drugs, including heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and powder cocaine between February and August 2017.

Authorities said they also seized nine vehicles, more than $200,000 in cash, and 21 guns, during their searches of properties in and around Reading.
