Overturned tractor trailer snarls traffic in Wyomissing

Speed may have been factor, police say

WYOMISSING, Pa. - Officials worked for several hours Saturday to remove a tractor trailer after it overturned in Berks County.

The truck was carrying mail from York to Brooklyn when it overturned around 10 a.m. on the ramp from Route 422 East to Route 222 North in Wyomissing, according to police.

Boxes and papers spilled from the overturned truck onto the grassy embankment below.

The accident closed the Route 422 ramp, as well as the Route 12 exit to Route 422 East, until about 1:30 p.m. while crews cleaned up the mess and removed the truck.

The crash is still under investigation, but police said speed may have been a factor.

No one was injured.
