PA Gov. orders absentee ballot application deadline extended for some hurricane-hit counties

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett extended the deadline for absentee ballots for next week's elections for counties where the courthouse was closed Monday because of Hurricane Sandy.

The deadline is Tuesday, October 30th but will be extended a day for each day the county courthouse is closed this week but no later than 5:00pm Friday, November 2nd.

"I urge voters to mail applications immediately, and county election officials to process these applications and get absentee ballots to voters as quickly as possible," said Secretary of the Commonwealth Carol Aichele, whose department oversees elections.

Absentee ballot applications may be mailed to their county election offices or delivered in person.
