Pa. State Police host kids for annual Camp Cadet

SOUTH HEIDELBERG TWP., Pa. - Youngsters are going through a mini-police academy in western Berks County this week.

State police are hosting Camp Cadet for boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 15.

The campers are from Berks, Schuylkill and Lebanon counties. They're learning about all the different aspect of police work.

"It pushes a lot of kids outside of the normal for them, so a lot of these kids are being pushed to places that they wouldn't normally be pushed," said Tpr. David Beohm, Pa. State Police.

The camp continues through Saturday at Camp Conrad Weiser in South Heidelberg Township.
