Patty Pagoda disagrees with Phil, predicts early spring

READING, Pa. - Berks County's prognosticating groundhog disagreed with Punxsutawney Phil for this year's forecast.

Patty Pagoda emerged from her burrow near Reading's famous landmark atop Mount Penn at dawn Friday morning and did not see her shadow.

That means an early spring this year, according to German legend.

Pennsylvania's most famous groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, did see his shadow on Gobbler's Knob Friday morning. That means he predicts six more weeks of winter.
