Teen on bicycle struck, killed by train in Reading

READING, Pa. - An 18-year-old man on a bicycle was struck by a freight train and killed in Reading on Wednesday, police said.

The accident happened near North 2nd and Buttonwood streets.

The 18-year-old victim, who police said was trying to hop on to the train, died at the scene, police said.

Officers and Norfolk Southern investigators blocked off a large area around the tracks as they conducted their on-scene investigation.
