Pennsylvania Steam sold to Georgia ownership group

Franchise leaves Reading before playing full season

Pennsylvania Steam sold to Georgia ownership group

The Pennsylvania Steam was supposed to be Reading's new indoor football franchise. But before playing a single down at Santander Arena, the Steam has
vanished from Reading.

The franchise has been sold to a new ownership group based out of Savannah, Georgia. The team has already been renamed the Savannah Steam.

The team will play its remaining away games on the schedule. They will then relocate to Georgia for the 2015 X-League season.

The Steam's former owners, Missouri Sports Holdings, also brought the Pennsylvania Roar soccer franchise to Reading. The Roar's league, the MISL, may not even have a season next year.
