Penske, Salvation Army team up for Thanksgiving food drive

READING, Pa. - Berks County-based Penske Truck Leasing has teamed up with the Salvation Army.

The partnership aims to make sure nearly 100 families have a happy Thanksgiving. Penske employees customized holiday packages to meet the needs of nearly 100 families.

"They really step in and do everything they can to meet the needs in this community. Thanksgiving is a huge need. They know we provide the food baskets, so they take it a little step forward," said Mindy McCormick.

The Salvation Army will begin distributing turkeys to nearly 900 families at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at 301 S. 5th St. in Reading.
