Police: Bat-toting burglar hits convenience store for smokes

READING, Pa. - Police in Reading are trying to track down a burglar who used a baseball bat to break into a convenience store.

The break-in happened around 3:30 a.m. Monday at the Sunoco A-Plus store in the 200 block of Warren Street. The store was closed at the time.

The burglar walked out with only a handful of cigarettes, police said.

Anybody with information is asked to call Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913. A cash reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
