Police find well-known Berks County man who went missing

CENTER TOWNSHIP, BERKS COUNTY, Pa. - A well-known Berks County man reported as missing Thursday has been found alive and well.

An alert went out around 9:30 p.m. because state police were concerned Jared Fenstermacher, a paralyzed man, was at special risk of harm or injury.

Fenstermacher left his home in the 400 block of Tower Road, Center Township, Berks County, around 5:45 p.m. Thursday in his orange and black wheelchair and was then seen around 8 p.m. near Main Street and Noble Avenue in Shoemakersville.

State police say they located Fenstermacher around 10:35 p.m. who was unharmed.

69 News has reported on Fenstermacher before. He was struck by a driver in Iowa and paralyzed from the waist down in 2016 during an attempt to raise money on a charity bike ride across the country.
