Police investigating vicious motorcycle crash in Berks County

Vicious crash in Union Township

Police are investigating a vicious crash involving a motorcycle and car Saturday night in Union Township, Berks County.

Pieces of the motorcycle could be seen scattered along Route 724 near Red Corner Road.

Crews on the scene say a man's leg was severed.

The car went down a small embankment and the motorcycle kept going several hundred feet off the road and into a cornfield. The motorcyclist and driver of the car were both taken to the hospital.

Part of 724 was shut down for awhile after the crash.
