Police: Man kept stash of fireworks in child's bedroom

READING, Pa. - A Reading man kept a large stash of illegal fireworks in a child's bedroom, police said.

Kyle Spohn had boxes stacked almost to the ceiling in the room where his girlfriend's infant daughter slept inside their apartment in the 1100 block of North Ninth Street, according to court documents released Tuesday.

Spohn, who also admitted to having dynamite, told police that he's not a terrorist and that he sets off and sells the fireworks, which included multi-shot cakes, Roman candles, and mortar shells, according to the court paperwork.

Spohn, 27, was charged with 20 counts of unlawful possession or manufacturing of weapons of mass destruction. He is free on $10,000 bail.
