Police: Man steals minivan from woman, kids at car wash

BIRDSBORO, Pa. - Police are on the lookout for a man who forcibly stole a minivan from a woman and her children at a car wash in Berks County.

The theft was reported shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Birdsboro Car Wash in the 300 block of North Furnace Street in Birdsboro.

The man, riding a bicycle, approached the woman as she was vacuuming the inside of her minivan, said police.

The man then told the woman to get herself and her kids away from the vehicle before he drove off. The vehicle is described as being a blue 2009 Toyota Sienna.

No one was injured.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913. A cash reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
