EXETER TWP., Pa. - Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed a credit union inside a busy grocery store Wednesday evening.
The holdup happened at 5:07 p.m. at the Visions Federal Credit Union inside the Giant Food Store in the Exeter Commons shopping center in Exeter Twp., Berks Co.
The robber approached a teller and handed her a small, red backpack and a note demanding money, police said.
The robber then fled with cash. He was last seen getting into a dark-colored sedan parked on the lot of the nearby Famous Footwear store, police said.
The robber is described as a white man in his 20s or 30s who stands approximately 5 feet, 11 inches tall.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Exeter Township detectives at 610-779-1490 or Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913. A cash reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
This is the fourth robbery or attempted robbery of a bank in Berks County in recent weeks. Police have not said whether they're related.
