Police: Man shows up at hospital after being shot in Reading

Victim uncooperative with detectives, police say

READING, Pa. - Reading police don't have much to go on in their investigation of a reported shooting in the city, thanks in part to the victim's reluctance to cooperate.

RPD officers were dispatched around 8:45 a.m. Monday to the emergency room at Reading Hospital for the report of shooting victim having driven himself there for treatment.

Police said the 36-year-old man told them he was shot somewhere on North Fourth Street in Reading, but investigators don't know exactly where or when. The victim has been uncooperative, police said.

They added that his injuries don't appear to be life-threatening.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Reading police at 610-655-6116 or Crime Alert Berks County. Anonymous tips can be reported via text to 847411, starting the message with alertberks, or by phone to 877-373-9913.
