Police on the hunt for woman who robbed Berks County bank

MUHLENBERG TWP., Pa. - Police in Berks County are on the hunt for a woman who robbed a bank in Muhlenberg Township Saturday afternoon.

The robbery happened around 12 p.m. at M & T Bank in the 4400 block of Pottsville Pike (Route 61).

According to police, a white female -- who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweat pants, a baseball cap , white sneakers, sunglasses and red Phillies gloves -- came into the bank and demanded money from the bank teller.

The suspect yelled several times at the teller for large bills and said that "this was not a joke," according to police.

The suspect is about 5'4" tall with a thin build and in her mid to late 20's with dark hair.

She was last seen running away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to call Muhlenberg Township Police at 610-929-5454.
