Police: 'Very active investigation' underway at Daniel Boone

Superintendent: Case of 'improper relationship'

UNION TWP., Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police said they are in the midst of a "very active investigation" at Daniel Boone Area High School in Berks County.

Trooper David Beohm, a public information officer for PSP's Reading-based Troop L, issued a news release to the state's media just after noon Wednesday, but it provided few details.

What Beohm did say is that the incident being investigated involved a staff member and a student at the school in Union Township and that it occurred between 2016 and 2017.

"No children are in danger," said Beohm, who declined to provide any additional information when contacted by 69 News over the phone.

Daniel Boone's superintendent, James Harris, elaborated on the incident by telling 69 News that it involved an "improper relationship" between the now-suspended staff member and the student.

Berks County District Attorney John Adams told 69 News that his office is aware of the investigation, but he said he could provide no information about what it entails.
