PSU students learn about opiate addiction and its consequences

READING, Pa. - Students at Penn State Berks learned more about the effects of opiate addiction and the stigma attached to it Tuesday night.

Dr. William Santoro, who specializes in addiction medicine, led a lecture and discussion on campus.

He told students about the impact prescription drug and heroin use can have on communities and the most effective forms of treatment and prevention.

The event was hosted by the Students for Sensible Drug Policy Club.
