Man makes daring escape from corrections center, police say

SOUTH HEIDELBERG TWP., Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Police are on the hunt for a Lancaster man who they said escaped from a corrections center in Berks County.

Ramon Antonio Beachy left the Wernersville Community Corrections Center in South Heidelberg Township escorted by a staff member when he jumped over a railing on a flight of stairs, ran through an outdoor courtyard and climbed over a fence shortly after 8 p.m. on Sun., April 7, state police said.

Beachy was last seen running off on foot with center staff unable to catch up with him, police said.

Police did not say why Beachy, 28, was incarcerated at the corrections center.

A cash reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to his arrest.
