Parrilla, Red Knights secure Berks County playoff berth

REIFFTON - At Reiffton, Reading High (6-4, 15-5) secured a 6-0 victory over Exeter (5-5, 13-7) on Monday to clinch a spot in the Berks County playoffs. The Red Knights will also finish second in Berks I, one spot behind champion Wilson.

Maicol Parrilla was a one-man wrecking crew on Monday, hitting a 2-run home run and pitching a one-hit shutout for Reading. He struck out 11 Eagles. Francisco Reyes was also a catalyst, recording a pair of hits and runs scored apiece.

Both teams now await the county and District 3 playoff seedings.
