Reading boys basketball ready to carry torch

Red Knights have experience heading into season

READING - The Reading boys basketball team has to replace a couple of senior leaders from last year in Jalen Branford and Baba Waples. But head coach Rick Perez feels like this year's group is ready to accept the challenge and carry the torch.

Led by Meme Burdine and Isael Abreu, the Red Knights are much more experienced coming into the season. Perez says his guys were seasoned last year, and he feels confident that they can step in this year and play at a a high level.

RHS faced a brutal non-league schedule last year, and will face a very similar slate of games this season.

Despite going 15-15, Reading still had an impressive season last year. The Red Knight captured the Berks I title, played in the county final and appeared in the District and state tournament.
