Reading man apprehended in shooting at food delivery driver

Jorge Luis Muriente-Vega jailed on $150,000 bail

READING, Pa. - A Reading man being sought in the attempted shooting of a food delivery driver is now behind bars.

Jorge Muriente-Vega was apprehended Tuesday night on charges that include attempted homicide and aggravated assault.

Muriente-Vega opened fire on a food delivery driver during a dispute over the bill in the area of South 10th and Penn streets on October 26, police said.

The driver was able to escape unharmed while witnesses restrained Muriente-Vega, police said.

Muriente-Vega, 20, was committed to the Berks County Jail on $150,000 bail.
