Woman stabbed, another woman jailed on assault charge

Reading police investigate 'possible assault' of woman

READING, Pa. - An incident involving two women in Reading early Monday morning led to one of them being taken to a hospital and the other to jail.

Several RPD officers converged on the 400 block of Schuylkill Avenue shortly before 2:30 a.m.

They said they found one woman with a minor stab wound to a lower leg; the other woman, Tracy Mitchell, was apprehended at the scene.

Mitchell, 54, was charged with aggravated assault and related offenses. She was committed to the Berks County Jail on $1,000 bail.
