Recycling in Reading about to get easier

Residents will no longer need to sort recyclables

READING, Pa. - Recycling in Reading is about to get easier for city residents.

Starting March 6, residents will no longer have to sort their recyclables. Plastics, glass, paper, cardboard, metal and other recyclables can be put into a single container.

The sorting will then be done at the processing facility.

For residents who have blue bins that were intended for paper and cardboard, officials said those bins can continue to be used as a receptacle for all varieties of recyclable materials.

Anyone with questions about the city's residential recycling program can call the Citizens Service Center at 877-727-3234.
