Reading United optimistic about upcoming season

READING, Pa. - The Reading United have cut the ribbon on a new season. The team played its home opener Wednesday night, giving the fans a first look. They had to like what they saw, a 5-2 pasting of Binghamton.

The win was part of the U.S. Open Cup, a tournament the team is playing in for the sixth straight time. They played the New York Red Bulls out of MLS in the 4th round last season.

It's still early, but the team is already implementing its brand of soccer. If 5 goals is any indication, that brand could be something special. Reading says it wants to be a possession-oriented team, one that dictates the pace of the game.
