Registration underway for annual Ride for Wise, golf outing

READING, Pa. - Registration is now underway for a pair of events being held in memory of a fallen Reading police officer.

The 10th annual Ride for Wise, in memory of Ofc. Michael Wise, is scheduled for June 8, starting at noon, at Reading Area Community College. The route will take riders past the cemetery where Wise was laid to rest and end in Cleona.

It will be followed by the annual Wise golf outing at the Fairview Golf Course in Lebanon County on June 28.

Anyone interested in participating in either event can go to the Wise memorial website for more information. Proceeds will benefit the Michael H. Wise II Foundation.

Wise, a Lebanon County native, was shot and killed in the line of duty in Reading on June 5, 2004, leaving behind a wife and young daughter.
