Royals agree to terms with David Marshall

READING - The Reading Royals have agreed to terms with forward David Marshall, announcing the move over the weekend.

Marshall is the ninth player announced as signed by the Kelly Cup champions.

Marshall, who hails from Buffalo, Minnesota, played eighty regular season games last season—fifty-five with the Royals and twenty-five for two different teams in the AHL—racking up a career high fifty-six points (20g-36a) and 105 penalty minutes. Marshall was the third leading scorer in the regular season for Reading, scoring eighteen goals and assisting on thirty-two others in his fifty-five games with the team. Marshall played to a plus-20 (+20) in his time with the Royals (second on the team), and his 93 penalty minutes with Reading led all forwards on the team. His PIMs included nine fighting majors, which tied for the team lead with defenseman Dustin Stevenson. Marshall put together a team season-long nine game point streak (5g-11a) from November 16 through December 7, 2012. He was also shootout specialist for Reading, hitting pay-dirt on four of his six chances this year in the skills competition.
