Royals in difficult spot this month

Royals dealing with difficult transition

READING - There aren't too many familiar faces left on the Reading Royals' roster as we near the holidays. The team has been decimated by injuries, recalls and loans, leaving head coach Larry Courville little choice but to bring in new players and suffer the growing pains.

After a sensational November that saw the team go 8-3, Reading is 0-2 in December, losing by a combined score of 11-5.

Both the offense and defense have been struggling to find consistent success, but that is to be expected when a team is trying to introduce a system to fresh faces during the middle of a season.

The Royals will look to turn it around this weekend when they host Florida and Elmira on Friday and Saturday.
