Royals' Tifu excited to get back on the ice

Yannick Tifu making strides in recovery

READING - You'd be hard pressed to find a player that means more to the Royals than Yannick Tifu. When the captain went down with a shoulder injury earlier this month, Royals fans became a little nervous.

Tifu is expected to miss one to two months as his team continues to battle for playoff positioning.

But the veteran could beat that timetable.

He helped out coach Larry Courville at practice Tuesday, his first time on the ice since suffering the injury.

Tifu, armed with some great news yesterday, says he's handling the recovery process well and should be more active in the coming weeks.
