Saints field hockey has big shoes to fill

Berks Catholic coming off great season in 2013

Saints field hockey young this year

READING, Pa. - The Berks Catholic field hockey team was one win away from the PIAA tournament last season. If the Saints want to get back to that point, they'll need to replace some key producers from last season.

BC (10-3, 17-7 in 2013) will be considered one of the Berks County favorites this year, along with Twin Valley, Oley Valley and Wilson.

But the team has to replace the likes of Katrina Balatgek, Meghan Donahue and Cayla Spatz, the top scorers from last season.

But the Saints are confident they have the depth and ability to fill those holes. They are hoping to pick up where they left off last year, and qualify for the PIAA tournament.
