Santander Arena job fair draws many applicants

READING, Pa. - Folks looking for part-time work packed the Santader Arena in downtown Reading.

Job-seekers lined up about an hour before the doors opened at a job fair hosted by SMG, the company that manages both the arena and the Santander Performing Arts Center.

People looking for seasonal work filled out applications and were interviewed in the arena's main lobby for openings as housekeepers, ushers and ticket takers.

"So, it's really just anybody in the community looking to get involved, get some part time hours, enjoy a hockey game or an event, interact with the public and do a little work," said David Farrar, general manager.

Another job fair will take place at the arena Wednesday evening from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. for jobs with the food and beverage department.
