School to host memorial service for students killed in crash

JEFFERSON TWP., Pa. - Two teenagers who died together in a crash in Berks County on Tuesday will be remembered together in a memorial service this weekend.

The service for Shanon Althouse and Sean Orner will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the auditorium of Tulpehocken High School in Jefferson Township, where both students were set to graduate in June.

The service will be preceded by a viewing for Althouse from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday at Hill Funeral Home on Godfrey Street in Tulpehocken Township. She will be laid to rest on Tuesday in the cemetery at Salem Reformed Church in Bethel Township.

In lieu of flowers, Althouse's family asks that donations be made to the Society for Preservation of Animal Welfare and Safety Inc. (PAWS).

Orner's family asks that those attending the service wear green and camouflage in his honor, because they were his favorite.

Instead of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where he recently underwent surgery.
