Schuylkill Valley football hopes to build on 2012 success

Schuylkill Valley with holes to fill in camp

LEESPORT - The Schuylkill Valley football team lost a majority of its skill-position players to graduation. That has led to plenty of position battles at this year's Fall camp, as the Panthers look to build on a District semi-final appearance last year.

Schuylkill Valley's win over Berks Catholic in the first round of last season's District III tournament was the program's first-ever playoff victory.

Notable departures include quarterback Kyle Beissel, tailbacks Ryan Matthews and Eryk Cerankowski along with wideout Garrett Strobel.

Head coach Jeff Chillot is confident in the guys he has, who know the system and saw what the team was capable of last season.
