Search planned for missing man with Alzheimer's disease

CENTRE TWP., Pa. - A large search party will gather Saturday to look for a missing Berks County man with Alzheimer's disease.

Richard Jordan left his home at 1342 Garfield Rd. in Centre Township during the snowstorm on the morning of Thurs., Feb. 13.

State police and a team with search dogs will lead the mission to find Jordan. Anyone interested in helping with the search should meet at the township administration office, 449 Bucks Hill Rd., at 7:30 a.m., said township officials, adding that boots and a heavy coat should be worn.

Authorities have cautioned people that, because of Jordan having late-stage Alzheimer's, he may be confused or disorientated if approached.

Jordan is described as a white man who stands 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds. He has short gray hair. He is possibly wearing a tan, light-weight jacket, blue pajama bottoms and slippers on his feet.

Anyone who sees Jordan or know of his possible whereabouts should call state police at 610-562-6885.
