READING, Pa. - Berks Women in Crisis took to the streets of Reading on Wednesday to remember victims of domestic violence.
The group carried life-sized red silhouettes from Chestnut Street to North 2nd Street during its annual Silent Witness March.
Each silhouette honors one of the 46 Berks Countians who've lost their lives due to domestic violence since 1999.
This year, a silhouette was added for Jennifer Snyder, who was shot and killed in Lehigh County in 2011.
"These are people who should still be alive, so talking about their lives and the way they died just helps us sort of keep things in perspective that people are suffering every day. People are dying every day. People are threatened every day, so it's to raise awareness of that," said Christine Gilfillan.
Wednesday's march ended at the Miller Center, where participants watched part of a film about Snyder, called "Finding Jenn's Voice."
Snyder's family lives in Berks County.
